Canberra to Goolwa

Canberra to Goolwa:  12 June to 13 June

We got away in good time and called in to see our daughter, Kirsten, in Yass.  Then it was off to Gundagai, where we caught up with the dog on the tuckerbox “five miles from Gundagai”.

Our run through to Balranald went very smoothly, although we had to drive through quite heavy rain across the Hay Plain.

The Hay Plain is flat

The Riverina will be a green paradise in a few weeks.
The next day went very smoothly, as we drove south to Tooleybuc – on the Murray River, where we crossed into Victoria.

The sun came out and we passed through Ouyen, Pinaroo and Lameroo on our way to Wellington.  At Wellington, the road crosses the Murray River by punt:  it is much wider here and there are lots of pelicans.

Question:  where does the Murray River go between Tooleybuc and Wellington?  As we got near Goolwa, the rain came pouring down again.
